You have successfully published your book and it is now live on our store. Congratulations! However, you notice a typo that needs immediate attention. What do you do?
Whether it is a content change, metadata update or price change, you can make changes to a published title at any time. To do this please follow the steps below:
How to Make a Metadata Change
1. Sign into your Kobo Writing Life account. (https://www.kobo.com/ca/en/p/writinglife)
2. On on the homepage select “eBooks” to see your catalogue of titles.
3. Select the title you would like to update.
4. You will be automatically directed to the “Describe your eBook” page.
5. Make any metadata changes you wish to make.
6. If you want to make more changes to other parts of the book select “Save and continue”. If not, select “Save and return to your Library”.
How to Make a Content Change
1. Sign into your Kobo Writing Life account. (https://www.kobo.com/ca/en/p/writinglife)
2. On the homepage select “eBooks” to see your catalogue of titles.
3. Select the title you would like to update.
4. Select “Add eBook content”.
7. On the “Rights and Distribution” page you can select “Save and return to Library”. If you want to make additional changes to your title select “Save and continue”.
How to Make a Price Change
Once your book is published, you can set up a sale price or price change for your title.
1. Sign into your Kobo Writing Life account. (https://www.kobo.com/ca/en/p/writinglife)
2.On the homepage select “eBooks” to see your catalogue of titles.
3. Select the title you would like to update.
4. Select “Set the price”.
5. To change your current price select “Edit Prices”.
6. Make changes to your default list price. The price will automatically change for other currencies. Once your changes are complete, select “Save”.
7. If you want to make other changes to your title select “Next”. If you are happy with your changes select “Stop editing”.
How to Schedule a Permanent Price Change
If you want to change the default list price for your title but want to schedule the price change in advance, please follow the steps below.
1. Sign into your Kobo Writing Life account. (https://www.kobo.com/ca/en/p/writinglife)
2. On the homepage select “eBooks” to see your catalogue of titles.
3. Select the title you would like to update.
4. Select “Set the price”.
5. Select “Schedule a price change.”
6. It will prompt you to select a date you want your price to be changed. Then set the new default price for your title. Please note this will also alter all currencies for this title. When finished select “Save.”
7. If you want to make other changes to your title select “Next”. If you are happy with your changes select “Stop editing”.
How to Make a Sale Price
If you want to put your title on sale for a specific period of time, please follow the steps below.
1. Sign into your Kobo Writing Life account. (https://www.kobo.com/ca/en/p/writinglife)
2. On the homepage select “eBooks” to see your catalogue of titles.
3. Select the title you would like to update.
4. Select “Set the price”.
5. To schedule a sale price select, “Schedule a sale”.
6. You will be prompted to set a Start Date and End Date for your sale price. Once completed it will ask for you to “Add a currency” or “Add all currencies”. Please note we did not automatically populate all currency conversions for sale prices; you will have to do this manually. Once complete select “Save”.
7. If you want to make other changes to your title select “Next”. If you are happy with your changes select “Stop editing”.
Once saved, these updates will be reflected on our site within 24 -72 hours. If your changes are not updated on site within this time frame, please email us at writinglife@kobo.com and we will look into your title.
