• Great post, Tara. Quick question: what do you suggest for Box sets within the series? I’d want the box linked to the series but, since its collecting books already there, there’s no volume number for it. I suppose as a zero might work. Or maybe 3.5, if it’s bundling the first 3 books?

Hi Tim, as long as you have the series name field filled out correctly it’ll still be linked on site – even if you leave the series number blank. This is probably the best way to deal with box sets.

Thank you for this guidance, Tara. My question is: where is the best place to enter series info, for visibility? In a parenthesis after the title; i.e., Jack’s Heart (Wyoming Wildflowers Series)? Same place, but separated by a comma?
Or only on the subtitle line?
Or not at all and let the series metadata be the lone reference?
And that boxed set reply above answers a question I also have had.
    Thank you for your input,

Hi Patricia, I would recommend just entering it in the series name field. This way it’s all linked together on site.

I do that, yes. And if I read you correctly, you’re saying that including the series name and book number elsewhere is overkill? Or to put it more kindly, unnecessary repetition?

      • Kobo Writing Life

Yup, exactly that. It looks messier on our site than a book that’s just included the information in the series field.

Thank you, Tara. I think I’ve got a little house-cleaning to take care of …
