It’s fun being able to kill people for a living.

I’ve been writing crime fiction and psychological thrillers for a decade now, and have been self-publishing for around eight years.

Back then, it was a case of having to navigate your own way through the virgin fields of indie publishing. Now, of course, there is a multitude of courses, guides and gurus offering tips and advice. It can often get confusing.

But it needn’t be like that. I recently dipped my toes into the non-fiction waters for the first time with my book The Indie Author Mindset, which details how changing my mindset and the way I approached my writing career enabled me to take it stratospheric. I believe any writer can do the same thing.

I’m now fortunate enough to have sold more than 1.5 million books all around the world, and I’ve reached the position where I’m able to give something back.

Whether it be helping authors of all levels via email or Facebook, giving some useful hints and tips here and there or just entertaining people (I co-present the free Partners in Crime podcast, sponsored by Kobo, where we talk about crime fiction), I’m enjoying every minute of it.

Although I’m hell-bent on world domination, being asked to take over the Kobo Writing Life Facebook page is a good start. Let’s have fun!
