Unprecedented Demand Drives Shortages of Kobo Aura ONE eReader
Kobo’s newest eReader Aura ONE is selling at a blistering pace in Canada. Less than a week since its in-store release date, the device that Business Insider called “the greatest eReader of all time” is selling at an unprecedented rate.
Due to high demand for the Kobo Aura ONE, sporadic out-of-stocks will be seen in Canada through September. Indigo—exclusive retailer of the Aura ONE until September 29—will continue to add more stock weekly and customers are encouraged to check for availability online at the Kobo online store or through indigo.ca.
“The Kobo Aura ONE has clearly tapped into a pent-up demand for advanced features no other device on the market offers,” said Michael Tamblyn, CEO, Rakuten Kobo. “When we created Kobo Aura ONE, we knew that a subset of our most passionate readers would be interested in a premium device with improved waterproofing, a bigger screen, and a blue-light reducing technology. However, it’s safe to say that the enthusiasm we are seeing for Aura ONE has happily surpassed expectations.”
Kobo Aura ONE will also be available at Best Buy beginning September 30 in Canada.
