In this episode of Kobo In Conversation we’re all about the movies. We speak with David Vella, one of the top Executives at the Toronto International Film Festival. TIFF is one of the largest film festivals in the world and screens over 300 films. Of those 30, there are almost 30 that are book adaptations. David talks to us about his favourite adaptations showing at TIFF, what he thinks makes a blockbuster and what his favourite book adaptation of all time is.
2016 has already seen a number of great book adaptations and our team of booklovers, Nathan and Sarah, talk about their favourites so far and the books they’re looking forward to seeing on the big screen. You can find all the books they talk about here.
Sarah’s top pick for the year is the film Lion, which is an adaptation of A Long Way Home by Saroo Brierley. Coincindentally, this is also David’s top pick! Read the book now before the film comes out.
What do you think about book adaptations? Could you see your book on the big screen? Tell us in the comments.
