Hi,
I tested this on my own books, and it didn’t work. It says “We can’t apply this promo code. Your items might not be eligible for this promo, or your code may have expired.”
Is it perhaps because my books are too cheap? None of them are over $2.50. Or maybe the code doesn’t work in South Africa?
Or maybe it’s just because they’re my own books?
They’re all published directly through KWL, not through Smashwords/D2D.
Graham
It looks like you’re in South Africa – this code is only valid in Canada, the United States, Australia and New Zealand. Your readers in those countries will still be able to redeem the coupon to save 50% on your books!
Woohoo! Thanks for the heads-up! This will go in my Friday newsletter as well as on all social media! Thank you, and happy summer!
This sounds like a great offer for stocking up on some great summer reads. I’ll be letting my fans know all about it!
Thanks! I did some Facebook posts already and will do a blog post as well. Then, of course, I’ll have to go shopping!
Thanks for this offer. I will be posting it on my social media and hopefully see some results!

Just thought I would share this for those of you who buy your e-books from Kobo. A 50% off sale – and you can get as many books as you like at half price using the promo code in the article. One code for however many books you want. Great deal!
This is great! I have two new boxed sets that will be exclusive to Kobo during this time. Can’t wait to see the results. 🙂 Thanks, Kobo! Btw, why does the banner say “3 days only”? It does run through the 27th, right?
Hi Linsey, this sale will start in the U.S. today (June 22nd) and in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand on Saturday, June 25th. The sale ends in all territories on Monday, June 27th. It is running just for 3 days in some of the territories.
Hi :
I just checked out the list of approved books, and neither of my 2 books are on it (“Darkness Comes Reaping” and “Darkness Creeps Forth”). The books were published directly to KWL, and I am a Canadian author. Is there something I should be doing to make your system aware of my books?
Thanks.
Brian
Hi Brian, all KWL titles are eligible.
Great news! I will put in on my FB page and in my weekend newsletter, too. Kobo rocks! 😀

Great deal! Happy book shopping gang!
Fabulous News. I did share that news to my readers.
Ooh, this is exciting! Sharing on my FB page now!!
I have been sharing the coupon code on Twitter and Facebook. Thank you for this great opportunity!
Fantastic! Off to share on FB and Twitter!! TY 🙂
Excellent news! I’ve just shared it with my fans. Just curious—will Kobo ever include South Africa in one of these sales? I have quite a few fans there and they are always disappointed to be left out.
Hi Connie, thanks for the feedback. I’ll let our merchandising team know about the request for South Africa to be included.
The prospect of being eligible for these coupon codes was a HUGE part of my decision to opt-out from Kobo distribution on Smashwords, and go direct in the first place.
I didn’t know South Africa wasn’t included in these coupons. If I had, I might not have taken this drastic step – I probably should’ve done a little more research, eh? 😉
It’s really nice that I can send South Africans to Kobo, to get prices quoted in Rands, but there really isn’t any point to going direct with KWL if they can’t use the coupon codes.
Kobo, please add my voice to those requesting that your codes be usable in South Africa. 🙂
Hi Graham, please note that this is just related to this specific sale. South Africa is included in other promotions that we run, just not this instance.
Well that’s good to know! This is my first one, so I wasn’t sure. Looking forward to the next one. 🙂
