IPRLondon-based IPR License was founded in 2012 by Tom Chalmers. As director of an independent publishing company, Chalmers was aware of the lack of a dedicated trading service for literary rights-holders. The predominance of book fairs and back-and-forth negotiations between rights agents and commissioning editors continued to leave a gap in the marketplace for the listing and trading of content rights. With this in mind, IPR License was born, leading the way for fully-transactional online based global rights-trading platforms which will allow all interested parties to make offers on titles and complete full transactions therefore increasing existing, and creating new, revenue streams.
